RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. The Richland County Sheriff s Department is investigating a shooting that happened on Leesburg Road.
A spokesperson for the department, Sgt. Brittany Hart, said the shooting happened in the 1500 block of Leesburg Road but didn t share an exact time for the incident.
Hart said the victim, a man, was shot in the chest and taken to an area hospital for treatment. His condition wasn t released at the time.
At this point, authorities haven t provided any information regarding what led up to the shooting.
According to maps of the region, the general area provided is between Greenlawn Drive and Fairmont Road - a residential and commercial area just southwest of Fort Jackson.
Lisbon A woman called to file a harassment report at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, claiming that the father of her daughter threatened to kill her because she wouldn’t let him speak to her daughter who was busy getting ready for school. He reportedly called another 75 times and each time she answered the phone he threatened her. James. W.K. Adams, 21, Lisbon, was cited for display of license plate after a traffic stop on Chestnut Street after an officer noticed that the vehicle was not bearing registration at 10:42 p.m.
–Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of East Washington Street on the report of an ATV driving through caller’s yard at 12:54 a.m. The officer spoke with the father of the boy who was driving the ATV who said he would have his son park it for the night and that they would try to be more respectful to their neighbors.
Columbiana County Sheriff
– Deputies received two separate complaints Wednesday from county residents regarding calls from Document Delivery Services (DDS) having legal documents from the TMG Legal Group to be served on his wife. A check with the clerk of courts office showed no pending legal matters.
– Marcus Ortego, of Aiken, S.C., was driving northbound on McIntosh Road and went off the road, striking a fence, around 5:54 p.m. Tuesday after hitting a patch of ice.
– Diego Berto Gonzales, of Youngtown, was served at 12:28 p.m. Tuesday with several active warrants in the area of Fairmont Road and Middle Beaver Road, after deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle call. Gonzales was driving a stolen vehicle, so he drew a fresh charge of receiving stolen property.

LISBON Homer C. Carnes Jr., 41, state route 154, Lisbon, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the grand jury on charges of fleeing and eluding a police officer, a third-degree felony, and obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony. On Dec. 6, Carnes allegedly was in the driver’s seat of a blue Jeep in the driveway, when deputies attempted to serve a warrant on him at the home. When he was told to exit the vehicle, he allegedly put the vehicle into reverse, accelerated backwards and took off on state Route 154 nearly striking an eastbound vehicle near the driveway and another vehicle on Middle Beaver Road before he reportedly stopped on Lusk Lock Road and fled on foot.
