Fiji’s legendary singer Jese Mucunabitu laid to rest Fiji’s legendary singer Jese Mucunabitu laid to rest Fiji’s legendary singer, Jese Mucunabitu was laid to rest today. Eulogies were presented by representatives of the chiefly island of Bau, Fiji Performing Rights Association, family members overseas, and Tiko Eastgate - the founder of Tiko’s Floating Restaurant where the late Mucunabitu used to entertain. The late Mucunabitu’s casket was taken to Tiko’s Floating Restaurant in Suva and the Nausori Market for the final farewell, before it was taken for burial at his farm in Logani-sebi in Tailevu.

Picture: JOVESA NAISUA The TC Yasa relief concert held at jam-packed Sukuna Park in Suva yesterday raked in $16,363.55. Organiser Fiji Performing Rights Association (FPRA) chairman Eremasi Tamanisau thanked the 15 musicians for their contribution towards the concert. He said they would meet the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) to decide on how the funds would be best used. The FPRA had aimed to raise$20,000. More Stories

$16,363.55 raised at TC Yasa Appeal Concert $16,363.55 raised at TC Yasa Appeal Concert [Image: Navtarang] $16,363.55 was collected through the TC Yasa Appeal Concert at Ratu Sukuna Park in Suva yesterday. Hundreds of people showed up to donate money, stationery, clothes and shoes. There were also lot of people overseas that donated but the majority of donations came from ordinary Fijians. More than 28 bags of clothes and stationery were also collected. For many people, the concert was an opportunity to enjoy good music, food, grog and spend time with the family and friends. The concert was organised by the Fiji Performing Rights Association and it was supported by Communications Fiji Limited – the parent company of Legend FM, FM96, VitiFM, Navtarang, Radio Sargam as well as The Fiji Times, Fiji One, Hot Break Kitchen, Suva City Council, Digicel Fiji, Kava Corp and Profile Productions.
