WOODSTOCK Woodstock High starting pitcher Tom Bissaillon would not be denied in 6⅔ dominant innings to help the Wasps beat visiting Springfield, 9-0, in a Southern Vermont League baseball game on Tuesday afternoon.
Bissaillon struck out 15 against four walks and three hits surrendered. The senior wasn’t done there, going 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs for the Wasps (2-1).
Memphis Begin walked three times and came around to score a run each time. Jackson Martin added two hits, scored twice and drove in one. Chase Christiansen was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION The route to the Hartford High girls hockey team’s latest victory detoured through Bellows Falls Union High School on Wednesday … and it took a little while to pump the gas pedal first.
Grace Bazin, Emma Bazin and Izzy Stack BFUHS students all scored in the final eight minutes of regulation to lead the Hurricanes to a 3-1 win over Burr & Burton at Wendell A. Barwood Arena. With the help from part of its VPA member-to-member roster, Hartford (4-4-0) matched its win total from the last three seasons combined.

WEST LEBANON The Lebanon-Stevens-Mount Royal and Berlin-Gorham boys hockey teams will stage a schedule-closing rubber match in their four-game season series this weekend after skating to a 2-2 overtime tie at Campion Rink on Wednesday night.
The Mountaineers (11-1-1) haven’t lost since dropping a 3-1 decision to the Raiders (7-3-1) at Campion on Feb. 1. Berlin-Gorham leveled the set on Feb. 15 at Notre Dame Arena, 4-2.
Game No. 3 saw the Raiders hold and lose a pair of one-goal leads before settling for the deadlock. Lebanon got the early start at 2:45 of the opening period on Hunter Christian’s first goal of the season, which Berlin’s Michael Cote Jr. equalized exactly six minutes later.
