WEST LEBANON The Lebanon-Stevens-Mount Royal and Berlin-Gorham boys hockey teams will stage a schedule-closing rubber match in their four-game season series this weekend after skating to a 2-2 overtime tie at Campion Rink on Wednesday night.
The Mountaineers (11-1-1) haven’t lost since dropping a 3-1 decision to the Raiders (7-3-1) at Campion on Feb. 1. Berlin-Gorham leveled the set on Feb. 15 at Notre Dame Arena, 4-2.
Game No. 3 saw the Raiders hold and lose a pair of one-goal leads before settling for the deadlock. Lebanon got the early start at 2:45 of the opening period on Hunter Christian’s first goal of the season, which Berlin’s Michael Cote Jr. equalized exactly six minutes later. Happy to see someone in a different-colored uniform, the Lebanon-Stevens-Mount Royal boys hockey team scored on its first two shots on Monday night, then used solid two-way play for a 3-1 win over Berlin-Gorham at Campion Rink. Lebanon (1-1-0), skating in the first game of any level featuring an out-of-town foe at Campion this winter, got a goal and an assist from Aidan Yates, 21 saves from goaltender Tob
