The Pleasant Valley volleyball team went 3-1 in the Sonoma Valley Tournament on Saturday. The Vikings defeated Bret Harte 2-1 (22-25, 25-11, 15-10), Marin Academy 2-0 (25-20, 25-21), Cardinal Newman 2-0 (25-23, 25-20), before falling to Windsor 2-1 (25-23, 23-25, 10-15). The Chico High volleyball team flew out to its last tournament of the season to attend the La Jolla Coastal Classic on Friday and Saturday in San Diego. Friday the Panthers beat Ramona and Horizon Prep, before falling to the No. 7 team in San Diego, Eastlake. The Panthers advanced to the silver bracket and lost to No. 15 ranked team in San Diego, Sage Creek, before defeating No. 18 Grant Hills.
The Red Bluff High School football team defeated Corning 34-21 in the 40th Tehama County Shootout and the 57th time the two schools have squared off since 1921.
