Brandon Boulware, a Kansas City attorney and father of four, spoke out against the discrimination of transgender youth this month going viral for his heartfelt and personal testimony.
Boulware, whose daughter is transgender, testified against a state proposal that would prohibit transgender athletes from women’s sports earlier this month, during which he asked Missouri representatives to end transgender youth discrimination.

“I forced my daughter to wear boy clothes, get short haircuts and play on boy sports teams,” Boulware said in the testimony. “Why did I do this? To protect my child.”
