Though the BAIC has historically been a space and resource for students identifying within the AHANA acronym, BC officially integrated resources for LGBTQ+ students into the center at the beginning of the 2023-24 academic year.
Boston College will officially integrate its LGBTQ+ programming and support into the Thea Bowman AHANA and Intercultural Center (BAIC) this summer, according to an email sent to the BC community on Friday afternoon.

Students enrolled in the Montserrat program at Boston College accepted a donation of 5,000 masks from Burgess Brothers, a California-based company, in celebration of Black History Month.Montserrat students
Kobe Hurtado had settled in for a typical day as a work-study intern at Boston Collegeâs Montserrat Office when dozens of boxes filled with 5,000 blue, medical face masks arrived earlier this month.
Hurtado, a junior, was happy to distribute the masks to his fellow students enrolled in Montserrat, a program that provides financial and social support for low-income students at the Jesuit-run university in Chestnut Hill.
