Earlier in the day, Sharmila was taken into preventive custody in Mahabubabad district in connection with a case booked against her for making alleged derogatory remarks against BRS MLA Banoth Shankar Naik and brought to Hyderabad.
Y.S. Sharmila is sister of current Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. She, along with party members, had marched to Telangana CM K. Chandrashekar Rao's house in protest against the alleged attack on party activists by the ruling TRS cadre.
