can to keep u.s. officials posted on what the situation is here. but they are in the middle of their own investigation and granted they do have a suspect that is alive and so hopefully they could learn a lot about the motivation here. i want to go now to the scene there in toronto. a reporter for global news toronto camille coremally was on the scene. tell us what you are seeing now. still an active scene here. a lot of this major artery in toronto is closed up, taped up. a lot of on-lookers wondering what is going on and once they hear it, they are shake e sha because it is a close-knit neighborhood along this stretch of young street north of downtown and a lot of residential buildings and a lot of people wondering how they will get home tonight. we see a lot of police officers with big assault rifles guarding along the street because it is still very much active. you could imagine this many
fashion close those businesses for the remainder of the day. and ask people to go home. it is close to the end of the business day for many people in any event but we re asking if people will close businesses and we re asking for those businesses that are on the east side of young street they use doris for those trying to leave by car or on foot and on the west side that they use bea croft and we re trying to keep those away so the police could continue with the investigation and little chance of any disturbance of the scene of this incident as possible. so we re asking that to be the case. i have already asked that the city government building at the square be closed for the day and i think again it was close to the closing time and i m hoping those people are leaving that building in an orderly fashion. we re asking that people who are coming home to this area, please do the same thing. if they could use bea croft to the west of young street to get to where they are going, and if
because we can t offer shuttle buses on the section of young street that is closed and expected to remain closed for some period of time. i would say to people that i ve been advised in the briefings that i ve been privy to this afternoon that it is likely there will be several days of disruption because there is a major investigation and there is going to be taking place here and i hope people will be considerate and understand there likely be will be disruptions to traffic and other things in this area of the city. but as part of pulling together we ll understand that the sacrifices people have to make in that regard would be reasonable in the context of something terrible as this that has happen and that we have to get to the bottom of as quickly and efficiently as possible. we re in the process of establishing two hotlines, two response lines for people. the first and most important is for the families of those who are worried about loved ones and trying to inquire about the
