East Carolina University’s School of Music (SoM) hosted its symphonic and concert bands for the last concert of the spring semester on April 12 in Wright Auditorium.

The Charlotte Pride Band (CPB), under the artistic direction of John Stanley Ross, presents “Spring Fling 2022, World Premiere”. This special concert features the world premiere of an exciting work, “A Place We Call Home”, by Terrell Cordice. CPB commissioned the piece in 2019. Additionally, the event has not one, but two guest soloists! Sam Sparrow, clarinetist with the Charlotte Symphony, will perform “Solo de Concours” with CPB. In addition, CPB welcomes Zoe Tarrant, the winner of the band's first ever Youth Soloist competition. She is a student at the Northwest School of the Arts.
In addition to the premiere, the band will perform works by a diverse array of composers including Travis Cross, Johannes Brahms, Cedric Adderley, Rossano Galante, Omar Thomas, Ed Huckeby, and Andre Messager.
The concert is Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 5pm at Park Road Church, 3900 Park Road. Tickets start at $20 and are available at www.charlotteprideband.org/tickets.
