and of course african-americans but he also really tried to keep unity between the white and black. that s what made him unique. he was appealing not just to the working class or poor people of minority communities but to white people as well. that s what i think showed up when he was buried. you could see the people along the train tracks in new jersey and philadelphia and baltimore and could see the people of color in the big cities but you see all of the poor white people working class white people saluting him to open spaces in between. it s quite a testament and legacy and that s what he wanted to do, unite people. let s shape that vision, was it religion and his family. how did he come to have that vision of inclusiveness when he looked at the u.s. i worked on this for a long time on the book i wrote. i think it comes from i think we re all pretty much the same person when as we were when we were five years old. he was the rubt nts in the fami father made fun of him for b
2018. the santa fe school district is closed today, but the investigation is far from over. right now investigators are pouring over school surveillance footage, piecing together a timeline and all of this as we learn deputies and the shooter were locked in a gun battle for 25 minutes. cnn correspondent nick valencia is joining me now from santa fe. nick, investigators, are they closer to discovering the motive here? reporter: if they are any closer, they haven t made it public. it was the family of the alleged gunman that released a statement saying that the person that is accused of murdering ten people injuring 13 others is not the person that they knew. they called hmm a quiet, sweet boy, but it was known as a problem to one family, a victim, shanna fish, the familier, fami harassed their young girl for four months, she had enough, standing up in the middle of class and evidently embarrassing him in front of classmates.
i talk to her almost every day, and i miss those talks. they took turns talking about the loving daughter, the softball mom, the sweet woman gunned down on that lonely country road. a murdhat was still a mystery. my fami will not stop searching or doing whatever it takes to find out who took teresa s life. when scott got up to speak, you can bet people were paying special, close attention. yes, she was a loving wife, loving mother and a loving friend to the community. yes, she would do anything for anybody at any time. having discovered he was not exactly husband of the year, some people still nursed a lingering suspicion, and yet, here he was devoted to the care of his children and full of praise for his dead wife. she did a wonderful job raising these kids.
