The High Court had rejected his first bail plea in February 2021 observing that Kapoor had alleged misused of his position in the bank which led to loss of public funds for financial gain, should be viewed seriously.
The former banker was taken into custody in January 2021 in the case while already in custody in other offences. He continues to remain in judicial custody.
Kapoor had allegedly connived with HDIL promoter Rakesh Wadhawan and sanctioned a loan of Rs. 202 crore to Macstar which was eventually siphoned off to HDIL.
