The Andhra Pradesh State Anti-Red Sanders Smuggling Task Force personnel on Saturday nabbed three youth and seized two red sanders logs, two cars and a motorcycle at Anjaneyapuram forest check-post between Renigunta and Railway Kodur.
According to the task force officials, a combing party was conducting checks at the forest ghat section, when they reportedly spotted a motorbike-borne youth acting as a pilot, trailed by two cars proceeding towards Renigunta. When the task force personnel tried to intercept the vehicles, the accused tried to flee from the check-post but were overpowered, and three youth were nabbed. Two red sanders logs were seized from one of the cars. The accused were identified as K.V. Karthik of Renigunta mandal, M. Sasikumar of Papanaidupeta in Yerpedu mandal, and Challa Balaji of Gudimallam villag.
Tenders To Be Called For Construction Of 30 Skill Development Colleges In AP May 13, 2021, 14:42 IST
AMARAVATI: Arrangements for the construction of 30 Skill Development Colleges (SDCs) are in full swing, which is set to play a key role in providing quality human resources and industrial development in the State. With the identification and selection of sites already completed at 21 locations in 25 parliamentary constituencies, the Andhra Pradesh State Skills Development Corporation (APSSDC) is making arrangements to call for tenders soon.
Each SDC will be set up on at least 5 acres of land at a cost of Rs. 40 crore. It is estimated that Rs 1,200 crore would be required for the construction of 30 colleges initially. Tenders will be called for and construction work will start as soon as the administrative clearances are received from the Centre.
War room formed to monitor oxygen management

Following the Ruia incident, the district administration has hurriedly formed a war room to monitor the requirement, supply and usage of oxygen at various public and private hospitals in Chittoor district.
The control room, formed in tune with the COVID Instant Orders 119, will continuously monitor the data pertaining to oxygen in the district, announced Joint Collector (Health) S. Veerabrahmam.
Participating in a meeting along with the Revenue Divisional Officer Kanaka Narasa Reddy here on Tuesday, he gave instructions to the special officers to keep an eye on the oxygen supported beds and the inflow/outflow of patients. Oxygen is currently being supplied from a plant in Yerpedu, while two more plants in Chittoor and Vadamalapet will be operational soon.

TIRUPATI: The ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) is all slated to win and retain the Tirupati Lok Sabha seat as its candidate Dr M Gurumoorthy established a comfortable lead over the TDP and BJP by noon on Sunday. By 3:45 PM the YSRCP candidate so far received 2, 77,000 votes and is slated to win the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-elections with a huge majority. The counting of votes is still underway and the numbers of votes could increase further and the majority win.

The YSRCP candidate in his maiden election polled over 2.29 lakh votes as against about 1.33 lakh votes polled by his nearest Telugu Desam Party nominee Panabaka Lakshmi when 4.10 lakh votes were counted, according to Nellore District Collector and Returning Officer K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu.
