The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) demolished illegal colonies in Jewar and freed 6.37 hectares worth Rs 128 crore from encroachments. As the Noida International Airport comes up in Jewar, the land mafia has become quite active in the surrounding areas. Officials took down colonies in Jewar Bangar, Mangrauli, and Mevla Gopalgarh and appealed to people to avoid buying houses from the land mafia.
YEIDA has been directed to conduct a feasibility study on a light rail corridor between Noida International Airport and the proposed Film City. The move comes after a global tender for the pod taxi project failed to get any bidders.
