While Congress is yet to announce whether the next Karnataka Chief Minister will be Siddaramaiah or DK Shivakumar, Dalits, Lingayats, and Muslims are vying for the Deputy CM post.
The All India Veerashaiva Mahasabha said that the community had played a major role in the winning of 50 candidates in addition to the 34 Lingayat candidates who were elected.
Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar were scheduled to meet All India Congress Committee president Mallikarjun Kharge and former AICC president Sonia Gandhi on May 15.
