Townhill Road Spar raid: Gun robber jailed for five years

A GUN-TOTING robber was jailed for five years and four months today (Wednesday) after he fled empty-handed when a shopkeeper disarmed him. Keiran Pearson, 28, pointed the weapon at Zaheer Babar and twice demanded that he sit down but his victim turned the tables on him. Mr Babar grabbed the gun and told Pearson to put his hands up and instructed him to leave the Spar shop, in Townhill Road, Dunfermline. Pearson expressed a concern that the shopkeeper would hit him and asked if he had left a bag inside the premises. Mr Babar went back into the shop to check and then returned to find that Pearson had fled, the High Court in Edinburgh heard.

Kieran Pearson was jailed for more than five years at the High Court in Edinburgh after admitting to carrying out the botched robbery in Dunfermline last year.
