Prior to Google introducing their all-new Pixel Fold tomorrow at their I/O developer conference keynote tomorrow, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office officially granted Apple a patent today that relates to a folding iDevice that includes a layer with self-healing properties.
On Tuesday, Apple was granted a patent for a multi-layered flip phone. On Thursday, the US Patent & Trademark Office published a patent application from Apple that related to a unique protective crack-resistant cover layer structure for future foldable devices such as an iPhone (flip phone), iPad (hybrid laptop), Macs and TV.
Today the US Patent & Trademark Office published a patent application from Apple that relates to next-gen foldable phones, tablets and/or hybrid tablet-notebooks that implement a new force sensing spring layer that supports the folding display.
