Speaking to reporters, one of the organizers, Yanpvuo Kikon said this year’s edition witnessed over hundred people at the one-day event. He said the event was all about inspiring a stronger and fitter Nagaland where fitness enthusiasts and those from the fitness community from across the state come together to promoting each other.
Despite the criticism surrounding the recently concluded Business 20 (B20) Conference, the official G20 dialogue forum for the global business community, entrepreneurs from Nagaland have viewed it as a “great platform” to talk and showcase their products.
Our Correspondent Kohima, Sep. 17 (EMN): Fitness community in Nagaland on Saturday thronged to Kohima’s Sokhriezie Lake Park and participated in various competitions of the Nagaland Street Fitness chapter VII. Started by a group of four friends, Nagaland Street Fitness has been gaining momentum over the years, as more gym-goers and fitness enthusiasts took part in the annual event. Member of the Nagaland Street Fitness, Yanpvuo Kikon, said the event is not government-sponsored but about the fitness community coming together and promoting each other. Through the event, the orgniser hopes to inspire and motivate others to live healthy lives because Nagas are supposed to be “strong warriors”. “We need to become stronger, fitter and that is the message we want to convey to the youngsters”, he added. Our Correspondent Kohima, June 16 (EMN): As part of the second edition of the Musician Guilds’ red carpet event, a music award ceremony would be held for the musicians of Northeast India. The event is slated to be held on June 18 (Saturday) at RCEMPA in Jotsoma, Kohima from 5 pm onwards. This was announced during a press conference held at The Heritage addressed by Musician Guilds, President Melekhoto Pucho; Advisor, Yanpvuo Kikon and members Mengu Suokhrie, Kevisa Khamo; Metet Jamir and others. Kikon said that the music award aims to establish an institution in Nagaland that recognises artistry of high standards, to acknowledge artiste in writing and composing original songs and to encourage more creative people in the state who are musically inclined inorder to have a repository of originality that is not only traditional but contemporary spreading across different genres.
