Becoming a United States citizen.KOCO 5 first introduced a Deer Creek Schools cafeteria manager who passed her exam to become a U.S. citizen. She passed, along with four members of her family. The family took the naturalization oath of allegiance today. It’s the day Yanet Lopez and her family have been waiting for. Yanet, her husband Lider and son Robert are officially becoming U.S. citizens.Yanet is a beloved cafeteria manager at Prairie Vale Elementary in Deer Creek schools.Yanet was overcome with emotion as more than 500 students and teachers watched the ceremony on livestream from her classroom.
