December 30 COVID-19 Case Counts From AppHealthCare, Toe River Health District
COVID-19 totals as of Wednesday December 30.
AppHealthCare reported Wednesday that Watauga had 127 active COVID-19 cases, a total of 2937, and there have been 19 deaths in Watauga. Ashe reported 81 active cases, 1412 total cases, with 33 deaths. Alleghany with 56 active cases, a total of 699, with 4 deaths in Alleghany. Across the three county district, there are 542 individuals being actively monitored, and a total of 95 hospitalizations since the pandemic began.
Toe River Health District has resumed weekly reports of COIVD-19 cases in the district. As of Wednesday, Avery reported 95 active cases, a total of 1218, there have been 21 deaths in Avery. In Mitchell, 123 active cases, a total of 987, with 21 deaths in Mitchell. Yancey reported 190 active cases, a total of 1115, there have been 11 deaths in Yancey. Additional COVID-19 Deaths In Toe River Health District
The Toe River Health District was notified of several CoVID-19 associated deaths in the district.
Avery County Health Department reported two deaths. One of the individual was in their 80’s and the other individual was in their 70’s.
This brings the total number of deaths in Avery County to twenty-one. Mitchell and Yancey County Health Departments reported one death each.
Both individuals were in their 70s.
This brings the total number of deaths in Mitchell to twenty-one, and nine in Yance.
