New York’s economy is slowly reopening, and that’s a good thing. The businesses that have stuck it out for more than a year in this once-in-a-century pandemic are understandably anxious to get back to, well, business.
At the risk of oversimplifying the matter, it will take three key elements to make that happen: employers with jobs, employees willing to do them, and especially in the case of retail, food and entertainment businesses customers willing to patronize them.
