NEW DELHI: India on Wednesday recorded 1.32 lakh new Covid-19 cases taking the national caseload to over 2.8 crore. With more than 3,000 new deaths, the total Covid-19 death toll now stands at over 3.35 lakh.
Today s single-day rise saw a minor jump compared to Tuesday. The active cases were recorded below 20 lakh for the second consecutive day.
Clinical trial of Covaxin on children begins at AIIMS Patna
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Patna on Wednesday began clinical trials of the indigenous Covaxin for children in the age group of 2 to 18 years. Registration for the children to participate in the second phase clinical trial of the Covid-19 vaccine was made open from last week at AIIMS-Patna.

New Delhi: Department of Science and Technology backed startup Artpark has developed an artificial intelligence-driven platform Xray Setu to identify Covid-19 positive patients by reviewing chest X-ray images sent over WhatsApp.
“XraySetu is specifically designed to identify Covid positive patients even from low-resolution chest X-Ray images sent over Whatsapp, the DST said.
The technology is able to detect the infection even from low-resolution chest X-ray images. The technology is expected to be deployed in rural areas for the quick and easy detection of Covid-19 patients.
