Grieving Stellenbosch students remember âhit-and-runâ victim, Nomzamo Buthelezi

Cape Town - Stellenbosch University students gathered at the Academia Hall on Monday evening to pay tribute to their friend and leader, Nomzamo Buthelezi during a memorial service.
Later in the night, a vigil in honour of Buthelezi was held at Rooiplein, where people shared experiences they had had with her.
Buthelezi was killed in a suspected hit-and-run incident on Sunday.
Police spokesperson FC Van Wyk said a culpable homicide case was opened for investigation and the circumstances leading to the incident where the 22-year-old died due to her injuries were being probed.

In a statement, the university said Nomzamo Buthelezi had died in the early hours of Saturday morning. Information available to the university is that Buthelezi passed away after suffering injuries caused by an alleged hit-and-run incident in Merriman Avenue, Stellenbosch, the university said.
