The petition in Supreme Court by protesting wrestlers alleges that there is an inordinate delay in the registration of FIR against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh even after serious charges, including that of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO), have been pressed against him
Protest Against WFI Chief: In a letter addressed to IOA President PT Usha, the wrestlers said they have been informed by several of their younger colleagues about the sexual harassment they faced at the hands of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The letter has been signed by five wrestlers including Tokyo Olympics medallists Ravi Dahiya and Bajrang Punia.
Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur heard the concerns of the protesting wrestlers at his residence in New Delhi on Thursday. The government put forward its proposal to the Olympians, who demanded the resignation of WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
