chris hope was one of them. as soon as the quake started to get to the point where it was extremely violent, we knew we needed to get out of the building and we were afraid of possibly the building collapsing on top of us. we made a break for the hall way. we noticed that these large steel fire doors came closed and locked us in the hall way. we tried to budge the fire door closest to us and it wouldn t move. we made our way to the end of the hall and the whole time, everything was shaking so violently that you could barely stand up. just the dust was choking us. at that point i was very afraid. we made our way to the fire door at the end of the hall. one of my japanese coworkers knew it would be tough to open. he ran out as far as he could and hit that thing we were able to budge it and
