It has been acknowledged that non-engagement in physical activities and the intake of food that are high in salt and sugar could lead to heart disease.
Also, as a solution to reduce heart disease in the society, it was also advocated that the government should build walkways, space for playgrounds should be added to school architecture for children to exercise themselves and for physical training to be inculcated into the school curricula.
The Executive Director of the Nigerian Heart Foundation, Dr. Kolapo Akinroye made this known on Friday in Osogbo during a radio programme monitored by DAILY POST to create awareness for events lined up for the commencement of the 2021 World Physical Activity Day.
Dr. Tukur died from an undisclosed ailment in the early hours of Friday, April 9, in Abuja.
