The Alabama World Affairs Council and NATO will host the free, virtual panel discussion Outer Space as a NATO Operational Domain on May 24.
The Alabama World Affairs Council and NATO will present a virtual panel discussion on “Outer Space as a NATO Operational Domain” at noon on May 24.
The discussion, which will be held on Zoom and is free and open to the public, is part of a series of events presented by the World Affairs Councils of America and NATO as a part of the NATO 2030: Strengthening the Alliance to Address New Security Threats initiative. The World Affairs Council of St. Louis â a non-profit organization which assists the community in understanding global culture, policy and business ârecently hosted the virtual International Leadership Visitors Program to honor 2021 International Women of Courage award winner Mayerlis Angarita of Colombia.Â
World Affairs STL was selected as one of only 12 councils in the U.S. to participate in this Visitors Program opportunity, which connects the awardees with American counterparts to share strategies and ideas to empower women around the globe.
World Affairs STL hosted Angarita, who has advanced peace and human rights in Colombia. She founded Narrate to Live, a civil society organization that now serves more than 800 women victims of conflict. City sponsors global affairs quiz team in national contest debut
HOLLAND A trio of Holland high school-age students participated in a national competition testing their global affairs knowledge Saturday, April 17.
Holland s Academic World Quest program is in its first year, but the city of Holland s human relations director Esther Fifelski hopes the program continues and local schools get involved. I would love to see this become something where we have a team at every school, Fifelski said.
Supported and organized by the Holland International Relations Commission, the team, dubbed the Holland Herodotus team and made up of three area high school students, competed in regional and national Academic World Quest competitions.
