Warrior Wrestling Win Five of Six | Big Horn Radio Network

Rock Springs and Green River were the host cities for this years Thoman-Jackman Tournament. Covid restrictions created a dual event this season. The Worland Warriors went into the tournament ranked fourth in Wyoming 3A wrestling. Day one of the duals would have Worland in Pool 4 with Rock Springs, Sheridan, and Mountain View. First up were the Rock Springs Tigers. Ranked sixth as a team in Wyoming 4A wrestling and having nine ranked wrestlers including Broc Flethcher the number one ranked 4A wrestler at 106 pounds. Fletcher would beat Anthony Martinez by fall.

Written by Chance Bond on January 16, 2021 Bright lights. Big Headlines. Two number one ranked teams. The Worland Warriors were 7-0 and averaged nearly 81 points per game. The Rocky Mountain Grizzlies were 7-1 only giving up just under 39 points per game. Taylor Winland is 6’5″, Dawson May is 6’2″, Branson Robison is 6’1″. Five other Grizzlies are 6 foot or taller. They walked into Warrior Gym looking big. A team with confidence. The three’s rained for the Warriors in the first period. Worland hit from beyond the arch. Rudy Sanford had 2 three’s. Jorey Anderson hit one, in the first. Mack Page got one. The big scorer in the first period for the Warriors? Sophomore Court Gonzalez. He had eleven of his fourteen points in the first period.

Lady Warriors Fall Short In Cody | Big Horn Radio Network

Written by Chance Bond on January 13, 2021 The Lady Warriors lose their third straight game. All the losses were against ranked teams and non were conference games. The 37-33 loss to Cody on Tuesday felt like one that got away. Worland finished the first period with an eight point lead and 9 points from Darla Hernandez. By the end of the first half Worland would have an eleven point lead over a 4-1 ranked 4A Cody Fillie team. The lead would shrink to seven at the end of the third period but the Lady Warriors seemed to be able to take on a fourth quarter run by the Fillies.
