The Worland Warrior wrestling team headed to State in Casper with several wrestlers with a chance at a title. Eight of them would place.
The Warriors scored 165.5 points at The Wyoming 3A State Wrestling Championships at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper, Wyoming on Friday. Star Valley finished first for the sixth straight year. The Douglas Bearcats finished in second 36.8 points ahead of Worland.
Kobe Swain Junior at the 113 pound weight class finished sixth. The weight class was won by three time State Champion from Lyman. Junior, Sefton Douglass.
Finishing fourth at the 120 pound weight class Sophomore Ross Goncalves. The weight class was won by Waylon Nelson Senior from Star Valley.

Worland would host Campbell County, Thunder Basin, Star Valley, and Cody last Friday. Wyoming Wrestling would see top contest outside the Ron Thon this season.
Wyoming Wrestling 4A schools and three of the top 3A schools would meet on the mat. The Thunder Basin Bolts are ranked second in 4A behind the Sheridan Broncs.
Star Valley is Wyoming 3A’s top ranked team and the Worland Warrior Wrestlers are ranked third in Wyoming 3A Wrestling.
Campbell County would be first up for the Warriors. Koby Tigner and Kein Anderson would lose their matches. Anderson to the 4th ranked 4A wrestler in Lucas Hill. The biggest surprise was Luke Goncalves being stuck by an unranked Nathan Harper. Worland would win the dual 63-18.
