Knowing if theyre getting a raise. Nonprofits not knowing if they have funding to deal with increases in health care and rent and other things. Its a very chaotic situation and its one i think we can all agree that we shouldnt repeat and at the supplemental hearing that we had a couple of months ago i think i heard unanimous support for seriously addressing this permanent fix and its to see were having a hearing now and moving towards that. One thing there are a lot of nuisances and complications with this, but one thing that we cant do is neglect nonprofit workers while we address this longterm fix. I do think that we may need to study and put together a working group to look into this in a more detailed way how we do something permanently but we need to establish a cost of living increase bridge that we can walk across while we get to this permanent fix that we will be discussing. Nonprofit workers if were going to hear acknowledge this situation is real and going on we can acknowled
Involved in this discussion we now as a city we now adopt a five year Financial Plan for a city and a two year budget. Do those longer range financial tools increase ability to increase the predictability for the city and the Provider Network . And are there others . By no means an exhaustive presentation today but some background and some questions were considering and i am happy to answer any questions. Thank you and through chair farrell we have a number of speaker cards but i know may 1 our minimum wage goes way up in San Francisco. Oakland has the highest in the nation right now and i think we jump may 1 to join oakland or as close to the highest in the nation but i know that creates some challenges for nonprofits and others in the city. Could you talk about how nonprofit contracts are adjusted for going to be adjusted for the minimum wage and how i know some of the executive directors are here to talk about the wage compression you talked about as well as a result of the increase
Were trying to get done, pier 707 and seawall lot, a lot of the benefits, long term benefits for the port wont really even enter that capital plan yet because theyre outside the ten year window. They are really critical for looking at the long range success of the port and their abilities to sur vive. I think the port has done a Pretty Amazing job of getting things done in terms of parks, open space, rehabbing some his toric piers and they really need your support. Thank you. Thank you. Any other member of the public wish to comment on item number 2 . Seeing none, Public Comment is closed. Have a motion to continue this item to the call of the chair. Can i just i wanted to thank monique and brad benson and the staff for helping me see the dilapidated piers from land and from sea and understanding important long term projects like pier 70 and mission rock and others as well, and i really appreciate the Community Input that you try to take into consideration as youre managing quite a bit
Addressing or researching . We partnered a lot with bae over the years and you can see the growth in the slide representing that. When the navy moved away from the bay, ship repair took a nose dive as you can imagine, particularly at the big sites. The sf boat works and then competing smaller boat facilities in alameda. They have a constant because of the smaller vessel traffic in the bay, but the big ship industry has been impacted. Weve bandage working a lot been working a lot with bae so they could compete for the bigger ships that are coming out of the cruise industry and the cargo industry. As you may recall as part of our americas cup project, we invested in shore side power at pier 70, which has also enabled bae to be a stronger contender for bidding and theyve won quite a few contracts that way. Their volume is going up. Theres still plenty of capacity to run the ship repair yard more and create more jobs and thats where we focus the ports attention. Is there a direct link betw

Is there a direct link between the ship repair hang and city build . Yeah. Were building that pineline . Pipeline . The age of the workers was pretty high. The age was around 50, 51, and seems like itd be a good job to do some turnover. Yeah, theyre partnering with city build directly, not with the port, but directly and something we look at a lot
