Organizers of 100% Iowa City, a community-driven movement launched this spring to make Iowa City the next 24/7 carbon-free energy city, say the movement is gaining broad support.
The city will use pandemic aid, supplemented with local funds, for a voluntary relocation program intended to help residents of the mobile home park find safer and more stable housing before the park closes, as is widely anticipated.
The Iowa City Council expressed support for giving relocation payments to all households living in the mobile home park at the time the conditional zoning agreement was signed in June 2019. The city plans to use both local and pandemic funds for the voluntary program.
