Finding work in a new industry The state identifies certain individuals who are receiving unemployment benefits and are unlikely to return to their industry. The state will provide the list of eligible unemployment recipients in Ashland, Holmes, and Wayne counties and their Job and Family Services offices will work with the person to complete a thorough review of work experience, strengths, and career interests to develop an employment plan. With the RESEA program being delivered locally, we’re able to connect the recipients to Wayne County businesses or other employment programs available through OhioMeansJobs Wayne County, said Crystal Brown, the workforce administrator for the agency.

WOOSTER The STAHL/Scott Fetzer Co. is celebrating its 75th year in business with a new building project. The company manufactures a variety of commercial truck equipment ranging from service truck bodies and ARBORTECH chip bodies to cranes. A strong market in the tree industry and increased demand from customers led to the company s latest expansion behind its buildings along Old Lincoln Way. The Wayne County commissioners and the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce helped Mike Stuckey and Ron Messner, the project manager for Bogner Construction, break ground on new building Monday afternoon. We see strong growth potential. We re really looking forward to investing in the Wooster community. This has been our home for a long time and we want to continue to grow here, said Stuckey, the company s general manager. It s a great way to celebrate 75 years and we hope for 75 more.

GOJO, Purell, heads to Ashland, bringing 100 new jobs to the county

Company takes over former McGraw Hill building Ashland Times Gazette ASHLAND  GOJO Industries signed a seven-year lease for a facility at 1250 George Road that is projected to be the workplace for 60-90 people by June. The former McGraw Hill building, leased by Terry Coyne, will produce PURELL Hand Sanitizer. Once fully operational in late spring, 60-90 employees are expected to be hired to work in the 600,000-plus square feet distribution center. The keynote speaker that morning was Carey Jaros, the new CEO of Akron-based Gojo Industries who had assumed the reins of the company known for manufacturing Purell hand sanitizer a little more than two months earlier. Tom Pukys, the executive director of the council, said a couple of attendees asked about the mysterious virus gripping China, but the conversation over breakfast centered on the basics of the company and learning about its new CEO.
