there are frankly even more questions. and we re going to get into some of those tonight. this afternoon a federal judge ordering the unsealing of the warrant that authorized that search. and a list of what the investigators removed, allah, the receipt. now the warrant identifies three federal crimes the doj is looking into as part of a criminal investigation, including possible violations of the espionage act, obstruction of justice, and criminal handling of government records. let s be clear, no one has been charged with any of these crimes at this point, and we don t have any indication it s actually forthcoming. what we do know is that investigators removed 11 sets of classified documents from mar-a-lago, which of course is the home of the former president of the united states, donald trump, in florida. now, those unsealed documents, they show that investigators seized one set of documents marked top secret sci. what does the sci stand for? sensitive compartmented informa
hello again, everyone, thank you so much for joining me. i m fredericka whitfield. this just in to cnn, sources confirm a lawyer for former president trump signed a letter in june asserting there was no more classified information stored at his mar-a-lago resort in florida. but when the fbi executed a search warrant on monday, agents recovered 11 sets of classified documents with at least one marked as top secret/sci which is one of the highest levels of classifications. the newly unsealed court documents outline three potential crimes that are being investigated. so far, the doj has not filed any charges. plus new today, the department of homeland security and the fbi say they are investigating violent threats made against federal law enforcement, courts, government personnel, and facilities in the wake of the fbi search warrant. the fbi says the number of threats against the bureau are, i m quoting now, unprecedented. cnn s katelyn polantz is here with more details on the s
fbi search of former president donald trump s home. now we are learning more about the events leading up to that search. two sources telling cnn, in june a trump lawyer signed a letter saying all documents marked as classified had been given back. that s what they re saying. but monday s search revealed mar-a-lago was still harboring top secrets, removing 11 sets of top secret gdocuments. we now know the justice department has probable cause to investigate three possible federal crimes, violations of the espionage act, obstruction of justice and criminal handling of government records. as of now no one has been charged with a crime. trump s first line of defense was to suggest that the fbi may have planted evidence while in his home. nobody has presented any evidence of that. plan b involved claiming that trump had declassified documents before the fbi seized them that the espionage act does not hinge on whether documents are classified. so the latest move is to blame the gov

reporter: we ve learned from multiple sources that the person is ricky shiffer. we are trying to find out what kind of connection he has with right-wing extremist groups. what happened was at the cincinnati field office of the fbi. he walked in there, according to our sources, armed with an ar-15 style rifle and nail gun and tried to breach that office. an alarm was sounded. he was pursued by law enforcement not just on the federal side but local and state as well. there was a standoff for several hours in a rural area of ohio which ended when law enforcement tried to have nonlethal ways of bringing him in, tried to negotiate with him, but then he was killed in the standoff when none of that was working. like you said, we have come across a user account on donald trump s media site, truth social, bearing the same name and authorities have not confirmed it is his account but we have one source telling josh campbell there is a government i.d. matching the same picture. in at
