Updated June 15 Litchfield residents approve $2.8 million budget While town spending is increasing by 25%, Town Manager Kelly Weissenfels says increased revenues and anticipated state and school funding will keep the property tax rate about the same. Share LITCHFIELD While the 2021-22 budget approved by residents at Saturday’s annual Town Meeting includes a 25% spending increase, a projected 17% boost in revenues is expected to help offset the impact to taxpayers. Residentsvoted in favor of a budget that includes $2.82 million in expenditures and $1.52 million in revenues. The budget does not include county or school spending. With the increased revenues, along with additional anticipated money from the schools and state, Town Manager Kelly Weissenfels said he anticipated the town’s property tax rate will stay about the same. The tax rate will not be confirmed until after property assessments are completed.
