Strickered and heavy flames raced into the rear wing of the ramada inn, and some occupants were scrambling to get out and away from the fire says the fire chief. Hanging out the window and throwing their belongings out the window, our initial crews threw grown ladders to the second floor windows and helped them out and down to the ground. And others that were far away said that First Responders alerted them. I hear the police, get out of the building the first thing i do is grab what i could grab. Threw some clothes on and grabbed my bag and got out of here. Two people were injured. A police officer, was treated for smoke inhalation, and a female occupant of room 248 where it is believed that the fire started. One occupant of the fire unit that self evacuated and reported to ems with smoke inhalation and burn injuries. And they were transported to Chester Crozier Burn Center in pennsylvania. We hit a high of 74 degrees on this 24th day of february and if that doesnt sound terrific, well, we saw a lot of smiles on the faces of people taking advantage of this extraordinary spell of weather. In fact in parts of our area, it was the warmest february day ever, ever but not everybody is jumping for joy as well hear from bob brooks in a moment. But first lets check in with meteorologist cecily tynan with the facts and figures from accuweather. Cecily. Reporter jim, it was warmer here today than san diego, it was warmer than phoenix arizona. Take a look at these numbers. These numbers we typically see in the middle of may, not the end of february. Philadelphia again tying that record high of 74, allentown 77, that is the highest february temperature ever recorded. Reading tying the february record of 77, trenton 7
