Sheesh. Chair fewer president yee, are you done with questioning, because i see supervisor ronen in the queue. President yee yeah, i have a few more, but go ahead. Chair fewer okay. Supervisor ronen . Supervisor ronen i dont want to cutoff president yee. I actually have a similar version of a question, so maybe you can finish up because i very much agreed with everything you had to say. Im wondering and this is sort of a similar question to president yee, how decisions are made specifically on timing and use and selection of awardees for nofas, r. F. P. S, and r. F. Q. S. And the reason im asking this is very similar in line to what supervisor walton and president yee were saying is often times, it feels like the same Large Developers get awarded and selected time and time again, and im just wondering what mohcd is doing to improve capacity in smaller organizations led by black and brown folks so that theyre able to compete with the large, Nonprofit Developers who are awarded pretty mu
Thank you. I dont really have any words. I will be an up and down meeting. We have a meeting with the school of the arts and a reading from school of the arts. Commissioner collins, did you want to chime in here . I just want to say that even though this has been a very difficult time, i think its also showing us ive been getting a lot of hope from youth and from what im seeing and so a senior with the school of the arts and i think that she excepexemplifies the intelligen, intellect and just the leadership that we see in so many of our youth, including those who are serving on the board with us. And i just really appreciate that shes willing to share her talent with us and i think she serves as an example for adults who should be doing everything we can to support youth. I think that gives me hope and inspiration when im looking at just what our next steps should be. And i just really appreciate jara and im glad she can be here. Thank you, Commission Collins. Miss martin. Thank you. I
Care expert, entrepreneur for 24 years, an awardee of the 30 working mothers of the year. Janet lang is Kaiser Kaiser pere president and a major bad ass in her own right. Please welcome janet lang. [applause]. Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Oh Kaiser Permanente is in the house today. Hello [cheers and applause] good afternoon, everyone. You know, i was so excited to be joining you today. And i was coming to the conference and i saw the theme was to be invincible. I took a minute to take a look at the dictionary to say what are some of the other ideas and themes behind the word invincible. And what stood out for me was indestructible, unbeatable, and absolutely too powerful to overcome. All right yeah thats right. [applause] those are fighting words. So i asked myself, so what exactly are we fighting for . So i have four principles that i think that were fighting for. The first is that were fighting for recognition, that there is economic value in the role that wome
And is more rehabilitative versus being as punitive as it is. Because we have a juvenile probation officer on site, i work with them intimately. I know the Decision Making process is not always the best. Our young people that are coming in are primarily africanamerican youth, and we work closely with them as well as the parents to make sure they get all their needs met. We work with most if not all communitybased organizations as closely in San Francisco to make sure the young kids are getting the services they need. I have been doing this for 20 years. I was so passionate and committed to doing it that i went back to school. So that i could find out more about what is impacting our young people. So for those kids that come to clark, 95 are impacted by at least one episode of trauma. Of that 95 , 85 are impacted by two or more episodes of trauma. Our young people need all of the adults in this city to reform, to reimagine, to do something very different for our young people. Your young
Importantly than all of the history and the history and the Systemic Involvement are two things. One, my continued and passionate dedication to the youth. Wherever we are on process, i will still carry a case load if you need to use clinical terms of 12, 14 youth. It is my philosophy no one should ever be out of direct contact with the youth in any of these processes. It is also the case that my belief in this system is largely cooperation, coalition building, where possible, opposition where necessary. And in my conversations with youth and with other service provider, again, many of whom i have tremendous respect for, and with the leadership at Juvenile Hall, that philosophy has been in there and will continue to travel through that. And best of luck on this decision. Well be behind whoever you place. Thank you. Supervisor walton thank you, ron. And now we have denice coleman, seats 1 and 2. Hello. Mr. Young, did you get the letters of support . I placed everything in the packet. Whe
