Wizards to celebrate Jewish Heritage Night on March 4

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Wizards will celebrate Jewish Heritage Night on Thursday, March 4, when the team hosts the Los Angeles Clippers. Prior to the game, renowned Israeli artist Kobi Aflalo will be singing the National Anthem. Aflalo will also be live on the team’s Israeli Instagram page on March 4 to discuss his upcoming performance. Wizards forward Deni Avdija will address fans at home in English and Hebrew while video messages from the Israeli embassy, former NBA player Omri Casspi and players from the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball club and Israeli National Team will play throughout the game. Fans can join in the Jewish Heritage Night celebration by tuning in to the Wizards Virtual Gameday presented by NBCSW. Fans will learn Jewish Heritage fun facts and enjoy Israeli hit music played during timeouts by DJ Heat.

Wizards to host Kids Night presented by Giant on March 2

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Wizards will host Kids Night presented by Giant on Tuesday, March 2 when the team faces the Memphis Grizzlies. As part of the virtual celebration, the National Anthem will be sung by six-year-old Pranysqa Mishra. Members of the Jr. Wizards will introduce the team and during the quarter breaks, the Wiz Kids dance team will perform with nine-year-old local D.C. rapper Fly Zyah. Prior to the game, nine-year-old reporter Pepper Persley interviewed Wizards player Robin Lopez which will be posted on the Jr. Wizards twitter account. On March 2, Fans shopping at the Team Store or on Fanatics will receive a 25% discount on select items, Code-Kids25. Exclusive merchandise including jerseys and Nike apparel are excluded from this promotion. Promotion cannot be combined with any additional discounts.

Wizards launch Black-Owned DMV series campaign to highlight local Black-owned businesses

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Wizards have launched Black-Owned DMV, a campaign to highlight local Black-owned businesses during February home games in celebration of Black History Month and will debut on Feb. 2 as the Wizards take on the Trail Blazers at 8:00 p.m. The Wizards will integrate six local Black-owned businesses into their home game presentations through a digital content initiative. The video series will feature pregame announcements and exclusive interviews dedicated to sharing each business’ unique story. The six Black-owned businesses include a range of trades and were hand-picked directly on recommendations from Wizards players and team staff. The Wizards will highlight the following businesses in conjunction with their home game schedule: Henry’s Soul Café on Feb. 2, The Spice Suite on Feb. 10, The Museum DC on Feb. 12, Boombox Boxing on Feb. 15, The Southwest Soda Pop Shop on Feb. 17 and Ben’s Chili Bowl on Feb. 27.
