That will show you just how fast the water was coming up. Now, king tides, not a scientific term, but very popular now referring to a particularly high tide. That usually continues for multiple days, once or twice a year in coastal areas and tend to rise about 4 feet above average waves. This is tracked and predicted by the National Oceanic administration, or noaa which is says the concern is low lying trails, roads, beaches, popular places people go to.
