(ABC 6 News) - A Winona county man has been sentenced to more than 10 years in prison for the killing of his wife.
Joseph Bailly Wright, 80 of Dakota, pleaded guilty on April 13 in Winona County District Court to one count of second-degree murder.
Wright was sentenced Wednesday in Winona County to 128 months in prison, will receive credit for the 377 days he has already served.
According to court documents, Wright called 911 and told authorities that he killed his wife on July 10, 2020.
When asked why Wright told a dispatcher, he had too many problems and that he had tried to commit suicide. Law enforcement learned the woman suffered from dementia.

Habitat receives mittens from Rotary Club of Winona (12/16/2020)
Rotary Club of Winona has generously donated 30 pairs of mittens to Habitat for Humanity Winona-Fillmore Counties in support of the Snow Angels volunteer snow removal program. Volunteers will receive these mittens as a thank you for the important work they will perform in the coming winter months. Best yet, Rotary purchased these cozy mittens locally from Winona ORC.
Snow Angels is a program delivered in partnership by Habitat for Humanity and the Winona Friendship Center. Individuals and families from all over the community are encouraged to sign up to shovel snow! Volunteers will be paired with one older adult for the entire winter season and will shovel for them after each snowfall. Almost 20 volunteers are still needed!
