The Hollybush Witney review: Eatery s steak left us close to tears

A bottle of house red Le Havre de Paix was our choice of drink. Portion sizes were generous. Picture: Lorenzo Pagano Opting for the house wine can be a risk, but not at The Hollybush. The red was silky smooth with berry tones and was the perfect accompaniment to our food. We also had sparkling water for the table, straight from Blenheim Palace’s on-site aquifer. To start, I opted for the cauliflower soup with herb oil accompanied by cheese on toast. For my partner, heritage tomato garnished with basil and Windrush Valley goat’s cheese. Cotswolds walks | House & Garden

Friday 16 April 2021 Perhaps nowhere in England demonstrates an effortless rapport between man and nature better than the Cotswolds. Yet beyond this popular image, the region is an embarrassment of riches for the walker, boasting ancient woodland, escarpment vantage points, historic mills, grand palaces and secluded river valleys. From the gentle to the steep, remote to the village-oriented, here we have gathered a few of our favourite Cotswold rambles: one for every mood or ability.

Wander through some fields as you head towards Broadway Tower, and revel in the gorgeous scenery when you climb up. At the top you can see up to 16 different counties on a clear day. Once you ve ogled at the views and enjoyed the tower, traverse back along the Cotswold Way route that leads back to the village.
