Frances, the rain has picked up in the last 20 minutes or so were beginning to see that downpour begin and one os going to be the red river that you see behind me. In the past in 2015 this river actually flooded causing an interstate highway to shut down and also some flood damage to a number of homes and so as we wait for this storm to come in and this continued rain were going to be looking to see if that flooding becomes an issue and the other thing here is obviously the wind right now the wind is fairly calm even as the rain begins to come down. Disaster declaration comes as 2 of the largest wildfires in state history are burning right now in the bay area. The l a new lightning complex fire has burned more than 325,000 acres in Napa Sonoma Solano. Lake and the s c you lightning complex has scorched more than. 339,000 acres across alameda contra costa santa clara, san joaquin stannis loss and yolo counties. These are now the second and 3rd largest wildfires in california history surpassed only by the mendocino complex fire which burned more than 450,000 acres. Back in 2018. And all the fires currently burning in the bay area, the l and you could lightning complex fire has been the deadliest and most destructive. It is claimed the lives of 5 people and 4 others were injured during the fire fight. So far 480 structures have been destroyed a 125 have been damage more than 30,000 are still threatened. One of the communities hardest hit by these fires is the Berryessa Highlands in napa county people there have suffered tremendous lo
