Marcus Stewart last night failed to emulate John Wark as a PFA Award winner when Teddy Sheringham carried off the prize. Stewart failed even to make the divisional XI with Thierry Henry and Sheringham the chosen strikers. Wark won the award in 1981, the last time a Town player was nominated.
Tommy Miller is Joe Royle s biggest injury worry ahead of Saturday s home game with Wimbledon. The midfielder has a sore calf after Monday s game against Rotherham and will be tested on Friday before a decision is made on his fitness. Better news is that Darren Bent will be available again after missing out recently due to a hamstring injury.
Striker Pablo Couñago looks set to come straight back into the Town side for Sunday s home derby with Norwich City after completing his three-match ban (KO noon). The Blues are yet to rule out injured trio Shefki Kuqi, Jon Walters and David Norris.
Town manager Joe Royle says he will make changes ahead of Saturday s home clash with Sheffield United. Town have lost their last two games and as a result Royle feels he needs to switch things around.
