Owners of an apartment complex where people were living without air-conditioning had numerous crews onsite Wednesday making repairs, Police Chief Wilmon Smith said.
City officials last week intervened to move four families out of the Summit at Independent Missionary Village apartments, 6607 Prino Road, because they were living in miserable and unsafe conditions.
The facility was bug-ridden and didn t have air-conditioning. A severely dehydrated woman was transported to University of Texas Medical Branch Jennie Sealy Hospital, police said.
