Thomas James Walczynski

Thomas James Walczynski, 69, of Duluth, died peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2024 in his home surrounded by his wife and three children following a seven month battle with cancer. Tom was born in Duluth on June 8, 1954 to Joseph and Mary Lou (Schminski) Walczynski. Tom attended St. Peter and Paul, Lincoln Jr and graduated from Denfeld High School in 1972. He was most proud of attaining the rank of Eagle Scout in 1972. Tom attended UMD while working at the DM & I R Railroad until 1977 when he purchased his first semi-truck and went on the road. Tom also drove truck for his parent’s company, Twin Ports Dispatch. Later, he became co-owner and operator of Walco Transport until 1999 when the company was sold. Tom became an independent truck driver following Walco, and retired from Indiana Transport in 2020. Tom was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, boating and the love of his life was to share the outdoor recreational activities with his family.

Janis (Fryar) Kramer

Janis (Fryar) Kramer, 74, of Duluth, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 26, 2024. She believed Jesus Christ is the Savior of those who trust Him and believe in Him. “Whosoever believeth in Him shall have everlasting life.” “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall be saved.” Janis believed God’s words, and at an early age came to know Christ as her Savior. Over the years, she was a teacher in various school settings-ages infants to adult. She appreciated the opportunity to work with many and saw her work as God’s gift. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rev James and Kathleen Fryar; and her husband of 35 years, Walter, in 2023. Janis is survived by many relatives and friends throughout the United States. Graveside service 11 am Friday, March 1, 2024 in Oneota Cemetery. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
