Assessors from the Police Officers Standards and Training Council will be in the city April 5 to review the department’s policies and procedures as they relate to State Accreditation Standards. A department being verified as meeting POST Council standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation, according to the release, “a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence.”
