HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - As the state struggles with COVID-19 outbreaks in the prison system, the people in charge of that department are now quarantined along with dozens of staff.
The measure is a precaution after the new head of the Sheriff’s Division tested positive.
Sheriff William “Billy” Oku started last week, and met face-to-face with various units from Dec. 1 through Tuesday. Sources tell Hawaii News Now that Oku received a positive test result Tuesday night.
