Meetings ¯ The Washington State Community College Board of Trustees will hold its monthly meeting at 4 p.m. Monday in the Community Room of the main building. ¯ The April regular meeting for the Frontier Local School Board will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Frontier High/Middle School media center. ¯ The Washington County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday at Norwood UMC, 23 Colegate Drive, in the lower level meeting room. Parking is available beside the church in the alley. Covid precautions will be observed and masks are required. Visitors welcome. ¯ Washington County Relay for Life will hold its first monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Marietta VFW picnic area on Pike Street to discuss ideas for the upcoming season. Smith Benefit Club welcomed the community back in full force Saturday for its 11th Annual Easter Egg Hunt, the facility’s first large event since COVID-19 forced its closure over a year ago. With COVID-19 still being a consideration, this year’s egg hunt looked slightly different from previous ones. When packing the colorful plastic Easter eggs with candy on Saturday morning prior to the event, volunteers  including about 15 students from the Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Jr./Sr. High School  wore masks and remained socially distanced.

One of two events to let you get out of the house for a while Saturday night. This Saturday, January 23rd, is the date for the 13th Annual Granville Improvement Club Wild Game Feed. If you have a favorite wild game recipe, whether it be smoked fish, grilled venison, fried turkey, or what have you, you’re invited to enter your dish into the judging for the Wild Game Feed. There is no entry fee and you may win a cash prize, as well as bragging rights.
