The first FIR against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh pertains to allegations levelled by a minor, which has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act along with relevant sections of the IPC concerning outraging modesty.
The wrestlers have been protesting since Sunday at Jantar Mantar, calling for Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh to be fired and charged with illegal sexual exploitation and harassment.
Seven women wrestlers have accused Singh, a BJP MP and WFI president, of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation. They complained to police on April 21, and have now gone to the SC against the non-registration of FIR.
After a protest led by some prominent wrestlers of the country, the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports announced the formation of an oversight committee to probe allegations levelled against the WFI and its chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
