A pair of John Marshall High School students have been named by Wheeling Elks Lodge No. 28 as its Students of the Month for February. Winners Avery Knutsen and Isaac Woods both are JMHS seniors.
Knutsen, the daughter of Melanie and Eric Knutsen of Glen Dale, is a member of the John Marshall chamber orchestra and the All-State Orchestra. She is a member of the varsity volleyball and swim teams. Knutsen is also active in the LEO club, the Caring Card club, and the Monarch Drug Free club.
Woods, the son of Lisa and Rich Woods of Moundsville, is a member of the Monarch choir and the West Virginia All-State Choir. He is an AP Scholar, and a member of the National Honor Society. He volunteers as a Special Olympics peer tutor, and as a Relay for Life volunteer.
