Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to democratise the G20 Presidency by hosting events across India, rather than in a few cities. The motto of the G20 Summit is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – One Earth One Family One Future’.
India seems to be combining its growing economic clout with its G20 presidency to make its tryst with history as it takes up difficult and urgent issues that require global attention. However, the G20 agenda that India has set up for its presidency also includes many topics rooted in its own national developmental priorities.
